Environmental Policy

EMAS Logo

Our actions are defined by the realisation that the environment represents a limited and therefore not discretionary resource. We therefore pay special attention to the frugal use of raw-, auxiliary- and working materials.

Pro-active environmental protection serves our company’s long-term security. It has no negative impact on our ability to compete. Our market partners support our efforts. We expect them to comply with environmental standards.

Environmentally-based company management is innovative, keeps the future in mind and questions old solutions.

We support and demand our employees’ environmentally and safety conscious actions with information and training. It’s key for our staff to actively think and contribute for reaching environment and safety related goals and to secure them long-term.

When selecting new production methods we allow ourselves to be guided by the environmental compatibility and eco-friendliness achievable based state of technology.

When modifying existing production processes we analyse the environmental impacts beforehand and take the necessary precautions to minimise these.

All necessary technical and organisational measures are taken to avoid accidents and disruptions. In the event of unavoidable disruption we will take suitable measures to minimise the impact on people and the environment and commit to open communication in such an event.

We want to keep waste at a minimum. When this is not possible but economically justifiable we take measures for the ecological recycling or removal. Here we reduce non-recyclable residual materials as much as possible.

Due to the energy-intensive production processes we endeavour effective use of energy. When planning investment measures we endeavour the implementation of equipment to reduce the specific energy consumption. In our selection of energy sources we strive for the most eco-friendly solution among the technological options.

Water is used with an aim for the highest possible efficiency. We will use recirculation systems or multiple water utilization where it is reasonable. We will keep the contamination of wastewater with pollutants as low as possible within the technological and economic options in order to comply with the legal requirements for the discharge of wastewater.
